Electrolyte imbalances, such as hyperkalemia, hyperphosphatemia, and hypercalcemia, are usually the result of CKD-MBD, which have been associated with elevated higher plasma levels of FGF-23 and PTH [1-5]. FGF-23 is also associated with dialysis-related CVD complications such as cardiorenal syndrome. This evidence concerns the gene PTH and chronic kidney disease.
