RPL9 and cancer: Indeed, several genes known to be important in the stemness of the cancer cells, including RPL9 42, 43, KLF4 44, 45, PDGFC 46, 47, SMYD3 48, 49, and ALDH2 50, 51, are negatively correlated with PALI1 expression, suggesting that PALI1 may function as an antagonist to stemness-associated transcriptional programs (Fig. 6C).
