Li et al. (2021) evaluated the value of methylation of five genes associated with Hcy metabolism [methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase 1 (MTHFD1), CBS, dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR), serine hydroxymethyltransferase 1 (SHMT1), and SAHH] for predicting the risk of developing IS in patients with hypertension in a population of hypertensive patients. The gene discussed is DHFR; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
