Digoxin is a substrate of hepatic organic anion transporting polypeptides (namely Oatp1b1, Oatp1b3, and Oatp1a2), most of which are demonstrated to be down-regulated in obese and/or NAFLD models by many studies including our group [40-42]. The gene discussed is SLCO1B1; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
