HIF1A and cancer: Licochalcone A (2.5–25 μM) decreased ATP production and triggered mitochondrial disruption in H1299 and H322 lung melanoma cells by suppressing hypoxia-induced HIF-1α accretion and the expression of target genes glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1) and phosphoinositide-dependent kinase 1 (PDK1), leading to the instigation of the mitochondrial apoptosis and cancer cell apoptosis.
