Interestingly, we found that only 4% (12/300) of ALS-associated genes including CAMTA1, CEBPD, KCNIP3, LHX8, MEF2C, MTF1, RUNX2, SFPQ, SREBF1, TFAM, ZNF704 and ZNF746, are annotated as transcription factors. The gene discussed is TFAM; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
