The trend toward elevated plasma 5,6-DiHETE, a dihydroxy derivative of leukotriene A4 (LTA4), in response to LPS at +2H and +12H further suggests that activation of the 5-LOX pathway is sustained, reinforcing its potential significance in mounting the immune response to endotoxemia. Here, ALOX5 is linked to serum lipopolysaccharide activity.
