A study on women with abnormal cervical cytology (CIN) and normal squamous epithelium looked at the antigen presenting environment in terms of the expression of Major Histocompatibility (MHC) class II molecules including Human Leucocyte Antigen (HLA)-DR and HLA-DQ, costimulatory molecules (CD11a/18, CD50, CD54 (or ICAM-1), CD58 and CD86), TNF-α and IL-10 on keratinocytes and LCs (91). Here, ICAM1 is linked to cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia.
