Subsequent experiments assessing the impact of miR-21-3p knockdown on FOXO3 protein expression in F. nucleatum-infected BC cells revealed that miR-21-3p inhibition attenuated the suppressive effect of F. nucleatum on FOXO3 (Figure 4), implying that miR-21-3p may promote BC cell migration through FOXO3 inhibition.
