Recent Phase I trials of AZD2693, a potent PNPLA3 ASO, displayed knockdown of PNPLA3 and significant reduction of hepatic steatosis in patients carrying the PNPLA3 I148M allele and presumed MASH with an acceptable safety and tolerability profile [81]. The gene discussed is PNPLA3; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
