NT-proBNP levels decreased significantly in the overall population ( − 14.1%, P < 0.001), but the decrease was not statistically significant in patients with T2DM, possibly because of differences in baseline NT-proBNP levels between patients with and without T2DM (123.2 ± 184.0 and 157.5 ± 232.0 pg/mL, respectively); NT-proBNP levels at 12 weeks were similar between the two T2DM subgroups (142.3 ± 300.3 and 134.4 ± 211.4 pg/mL, respectively). Here, NPPB is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
