DINAMO was a phase 3 trial assessing the efficacy and safety of the sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor empagliflozin and the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor linagliptin, each vs placebo, in participants with T2D aged 10-17 years, previously treated with metformin and/or insulin, and showed that empagliflozin provided durable, clinically relevant improvements in glycemic control [6]. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
