Finally, a significant anti-correlation between the expression levels of GATA3 and DNMT3B, initially observed in the TCGA–BRCA dataset (Fig. 5C), was confirmed in our validation cohort (Fig. 5F), suggesting that GATA3 may indeed be down-regulated by the aberrant activation of DNMT3B in breast cancer. The gene discussed is GATA3; the disease is breast cancer.
