IL6 and infection: Regarding theanti-inflammatory potential of the compounds studied,it is known that inflammatory cytokines are fundamental in immuneresponses and healing. Among them, IL-6is essential in acute inflammation, facilitating the release of othercytokines and promoting the transition to a repairing environment., However, high levels of IL-6 can impair healing and increase therisk of infection. In this study, IL-6expression was significantly reduced in all the treated groups comparedto the CG on days 1 and 3, showing the inhibitory effect of the treatmentsapplied on this pro-inflammatory cytokine.
