Overexpressionof p16INK4a was established in all cervical intraepithelialneoplasm and invasive cervical cancers (Klaes et al., 2001).In several bioinformatic studies analyzing RNA sequencingdata of cervical cancer samples, it was found that CDKN2Ais a kind of “nodal gene” of the tumor process, since it interactswith various transcription factors, signaling moleculesand microRNAs (for example, miR-424-5p and miR-9-5p),and moreover, its overexpression in cervical carcinoma wasnoted (Zhao et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2A and cervical cancer.
