Amidst the speculation of possible of link between COVID-19 (MONDO: 0100096) and AD due to the findings such as over-expression of a major COVID-19 related protein (i.e., ACE2) in brains of AD patients (Lim et al. 2020) and AD risk factor (i.e., APOE e4 allele) facilitating SARS-CoV-2 virus infiltration (Yin et al. 2021, Chen et al. 2023), we used our workflow to generate new insights about these diseases. The gene discussed is ACE2; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
