Abnormal increase and extension of coding ARE mRNAs are associated with cancer progression; for example, PTBP1 enhances the stability of tumour‐associated mRNAs by binding to the ARE structure in the 3′ UTR of mRNAs, which increases the expression of cancer‐associated proteins and promotes tumour angiogenesis, migration, invasion, and drug resistance (Figure 4) [111], suggesting that mRNA stability plays an important role.
