In melanoma, PTBP1‐mediated splicing of the lncRNA LHFPL3‐AS1 precursor produces the lncRNA LHFPL3‐AS1‐long that inhibits the degradation of its target gene, Bcl‐2 mRNA, and upregulates the expression of Bcl‐2 by acting on miR‐181, which inhibits apoptosis and promotes melanoma stem cell death [144].
