According to the 2004 WHO classification, the criteria for high-risk adenomas (“atypical adenomas ”) were a Ki-67 proliferation index of 3% or more, an extensive nuclear staining for p53 protein (often defined as expression of 10% positive nuclei or more), an increased rate of mitosis and their invasive growth [2, 3, 28]. Here, TP53 is linked to adenoma.
