Indeed, cardiovascular problems have been associated with PIEZO2 pathogenic variants in a small number of human patients57,58 and the University of Cambridge PhenoScanner V2 database of human genotype–phenotype associations suggests PIEZO2 genetic linkage with heart failure, diastolic blood pressure, hypertensive heart disease and thoracic aortic aneurysm18.
