The in vitro antihyperglycemic potential of PcAE and PcEE was studied by assessing their inhibitory activities against α-amylase and α-glucosidase, two of the main enzymes involved in the modulation of postprandial hyperglycemia, and DPP4, an enzyme responsible for the rapid inactivation of the incretins involved in the release of insulin from pancreatic β-cells.
