The study by Gencheva et al. (2020), conducted in Bulgaria, explored the diagnostic value of serum adenosine deaminase (ADA) in a cohort of 66 patients with inflammatory lung diseases, including 12 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB), reporting a mean ADA of 28.14 U/L in the PTB group [48]. This evidence concerns the gene ADA and pulmonary tuberculosis.
