The soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (sTREM-1), for example, has demonstrated discrimination greater than 0.90 for predicting mortality among hospitalized children in Uganda [15], while Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) demonstrated discrimination greater than 0.80 for predicting oxygen requirement among children with WHO-defined pneumonia on the Thailand-Myanmar border. Here, ANGPT2 is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
