A majority of the significantly differentially expressed (FC > 2, FDR < 1%) genes show an increase in expression with higher glucose (Fig 6F, Table S10); these include genes involved in retina development (Neurod1, Casz1, and Crxos) or those associated with retinal disease (Impg1/2, Gucy2f, Mpp4, Arl6, and Rp1). Here, RP1 is linked to Abnormal retinal morphology.
