Addressing this knowledge gap, the present study aimed to: (1) compare the efficiency of the extraction methods commonly used—maceration, Soxhlet, and ultrasound-assisted extraction—for the recovery of ARs from commercial wheat bran; (2) assess the composition of AR homologs in the resulting extracts, using targeted HPLC-DAD-MS profiling; and (3) evaluate the relationship between AR profiles and antiproliferative activity against PC-3 prostate cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene AR and Familial prostate cancer.
