Supporting these in vitro findings, the cardiac-specific deletion of miR-451 alleviated HFD-induced cardiac hypertrophy and improved contractile function by targeting calcium-binding protein 39 (CAB39), a scaffold protein of liver kinase B1 (LKB1) and an upstream kinase of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). This evidence concerns the gene STK11 and cardiac hypertrophy.
