IL6 and neoplasm: Members of the IL-6 cytokine family, including IL-6 itself, oncostatin M, leukemia inhibitory factor, IL-11, IL-27, IL-31, ciliary neurotrophic factor, cardiotrophin 1, and cardiotrophin-like cytokine factor 1, have been implicated in promoting tumor development by influencing the TME, as illustrated in Figure 2, underscoring their potential as therapeutic targets in oncology [121].
