In this study, NLRP3 levels were significantly elevated in the Past PTSD (≤5 y) group (median: 791.50 pg/mL, IQR: 693.23–832.14) compared to the controls (median: 111.41 pg/mL, IQR: 87.50–131.37, p < 0.001, Section 2.1, Table 1), reflecting a potent inflammatory state that likely exacerbates GABAergic deficits, as evidenced by the low GABA levels in this group (Section 2.1, Table 1). Here, NLRP3 is linked to post-traumatic stress disorder.
