PIP and obesity disorder: Among the spots for which salivary proteins were previously identified, proteins such as carbonic anhydrase VI (CA-VI) (four spots), prolactin-induced protein (PIP) (one spot), haptoglobin (two spots), and short palate, lung, and nasal epithelium clone (SPLUNC) (one spot) were decreased in participants with obesity, whereas Ig kappa chain C (two spots) and zinc-alpha-2 glycoprotein (three spots) were increased in participants with obesity compared to individuals with normal weight.
