Liu et al. found that in a mouse model of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) induced by a high-fat diet, significant upregulation of ZBTB20 expression led to an increase in the content of intrahepatic triglycerides, whereas ZBTB20 deletion significantly improved the hepatic steatosis and insulin resistance induced by a high-fat diet [37]. This evidence concerns the gene ZBTB20 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
