In mucoepidermoid carcinoma, overexpression of BRD4 has been linked to tumorigenicity, with research demonstrating that using the BET inhibitor iBET762 to displace BRD4 from chromatin leads to cell-cycle arrest and activation of cellular senescence, as indicated by increased levels of p16ink4. Here, BRD4 is linked to mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
