Studies on a rat model of cerebral ischemia have demonstrated the endothelial-protective activity of Angiolin, including increased endothelial cell density in muscular-type vessels and the microcirculatory bed, an increase in the density of proliferating endothelial cells, as well as an increase in the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptor binding coefficient [11,456]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and brain ischemia.
