A cross-sectional study demonstrated significant changes in IL-1β (p = 0.045), IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra) (p < 0.001), IL-10 (p = 0.004), IL-6 (p < 0.001), and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) (p < 0.001), with no significant differences between groups, except for COMP, which was more sensitive in RA patients; though classical markers like CRP and TNF-α remained unchanged. This evidence concerns the gene COMP and rheumatoid arthritis.
