Narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) is distinguished from narcolepsy type 2 in the presence of cataplexy and a lower extent of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) hypocretin (also known as orexin), a neuropeptide involved in the regulation of the sleep–wake cycle [8,9,10,11]. Here, HCRT is linked to narcolepsy without cataplexy.
