Transcriptomic profiling under metabolic stress identified METTL7A as a critical modulator of hBMSCs viability and osteogenic differentiation.37 Current reports have shown that METTL7A reversed bisphosphonates-impaired osteogenic differentiation of orofacial BMSCs.38 Besides, studies have predicted a biomarker network for identifying osteoporosis through multi-omics data integration, in which METTL7A is one of the core differential genes.39 However, the pathophysiological significance of METTL7A in osteoporosis pathogenesis and its molecular mechanisms require systematic investigation. The gene discussed is TMT1A; the disease is osteoporosis.
