Compared with the non-AKI group, more patients in the AKI group had a history of ICU admission (2.7% vs. 31.7%; OR, 16.8; 95% CI, 6.4–43.9; p < 0.001), lower preoperative albumin level (4.3 vs. 3.9 g/dL; mean difference, −0.3 g/dL; 95% CI, −0.5 to −0.1 g/dL; p < 0.001), and lower GFR (73.3 vs. 59.9 mL/min/1.73 m2; median difference, −12.0 mL/min/1.73 m2; 95% CI, −17.5 to −6.3 mL/min/1.73 m2; p < 0.001). Here, ALB is linked to acute kidney injury.
