Fiziev et al. reported that loss of histone acetylation at regulatory regions of key tumor suppressor genes, including BCL2 associated agonist of cell death (BAD), CDKN2A, Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B (CDKN1B) and apoptotic protease activating factor-1 (APAF1), is pivotal in melanoma development. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN1B and melanoma.
