To broaden the applicability of our results, we stimulated HEp-2 cells with Poly(I:C), a double-stranded RNA homolog which mimics viral infection, at a concentration of 1 μg/mL, both in the presence and absence of 2-DG or PS48, to explore the effect of glycolysis on IFNβ production. This evidence concerns the gene IFNB1 and viral infectious disease.
