Thirty‐three male Wistar rats were divided into control (n = 15) and experimental (MS) groups (n = 18), with the MS group receiving a high‐fat/high‐carbohydrate diet for 12 weeks. Systemic inflammation and metabolic impairments were assessed by measuring white blood cell counts, serum levels of total protein, C‐reactive protein, cytokines (IL6, IL10, TNFα), insulin, leptin, and reactive oxygen species production in adipose tissue. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and myeloid sarcoma.
