Acute pneumonia involved in the systemic inflammation resulting in a dysregulated immune response and leading to endothelial injury and/or capillary leak syndrome.[17,18] Furthermore, capillary leak syndrome is also due to an overwhelming release of pro-inflammatory cytokines as well as anti-inflammatory factors.[19] The inflammatory response is responsible for inflammatory mediators leak in the cardiovascular system, especially C-reactive protein (CRP),[20,21] etc, which may be the risk factors for 28-day mortality. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and pneumonia.
