Previous studies have showed that forkhead box O6 (Foxo6) plays a critical protective role in cardiovascular diseases by modulating cellular metabolism, inflammatory responses, and apoptosis.[18] Foxo6os, an antisense lncRNA located upstream of the Foxo6 gene,[19] shows high expression in cardiac tissue annotated in AnnoLnc2[20] and Expression Atlas,[21] suggesting its potential role in the regulation of cardiac function, particularly during cardiac hypertrophy. The gene discussed is FOXO6; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
