PTH (4.4 ± 1.7 vs 5.5 ± 2.3 pmol/L, p=0.05), ALP (63.9 ± 15.8 vs 76.2 ± 26.7 U/L, p=0.04), osteocalcin (18.3 ± 8.8 vs 26.9 ± 8.4 ng/ml, p<0.01), and C-telopeptide (0.35 ± 0.2 vs 0.55 ± 0.21 microgram/L, p=0.01) were significantly lower in post-polio patients. This evidence concerns the gene BGLAP and poliomyelitis.
