The study found that the rs1886814 and rs2894439 variants of the FOXP4 gene were associated with a significantly higher risk of severe COVID-19 (OR = 3.75; 95 % CI 1.7 to 8.0; p = 0.001 and OR = 5.7; 95 % CI 2.0 to 15.9; p = 0.001, respectively). This evidence concerns the gene FOXP4 and COVID-19.
