The patients with diabetes were older (65.0 vs. 59.1 years, p < 0.001) and had higher BMI (26.1 vs. 24.3 kg/m2, p < 0.001), serum creatinine levels (1.30 vs. 0.89 mg/dL, p < 0.001), and HCV RNA levels (5.98 vs. 5.82 log10 IU/mL, p < 0.001) as well as lower total bilirubin levels (0.76 vs. 0.83 mg/dL, p < 0.001), albumin levels (4.12 vs. 4.24 mg/dL, p < 0.001), and eGFRs (79.5 vs. 92.0 mL/min/1.73m2, p < 0.001) values than those without diabetes did. Here, ALB is linked to diabetes mellitus.
