Consistent with the role of tRF‐5004b in controlling cell adhesion, an analysis of molecules downstream of tRF‐5004b in ARDS revealed that tRF‐5004b antagomir administration decreased the levels of ICAM‐1 and VCAM‐1 in the pulmonary vascular endothelium (Figure 6h). This evidence concerns the gene VCAM1 and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
