Compared with irinotecan monotherapy, BMH-21 induced fewer Ki67-positive cells (Fig. 8L, Fig. S9E), whereas the number of cleaved caspase-3 positive cells was similar in the cells treated with irinotecan monotherapy and those treated with irinotecan and BMH-21 (Fig. S9F), indicating that BMH-21 treatment suppressed the transition of tumor cells from the non-cycling to the cycling state.
