For PBC, patients must have two of the following: (i) ALP ≥ 2x the ULN or gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) ≥ 5x the ULN; (ii) positive AMA; and (iii) florid bile duct lesion on liver biopsy [10]. The gene discussed is GGTLC1; the disease is primary biliary cholangitis.
