Moreover, GPNMB was upregulated in metastatic QQ cells, as compared to their primary counterparts (Fig. 8G), and, among the “growth inhibitory genes” of the melanoma-metastasis gene MODULE_488, it emerged as the most significantly upregulated gene specifically in metastatic quiescent cells (Appendix Fig. S9F). The gene discussed is GPNMB; the disease is melanoma.
