IGHE and asthma: Medications include a combination of inhaled corticosteroids, short-acting beta-agonists, long-acting beta-agonists, muscarinic antagonists, antileukotrienes, anti-IgE, and anti-interleukin-5 (anti-IL-5) depending on the classification of asthma severity.[6] Some people fail to achieve full control of their symptoms despite adherence to medications, including costly biological agents.[7] There are several hypotheses regarding the pathological mechanisms behind refractory asthma in such patients.
