In the univariate analysis, IL-4 levels (OR: 1.008, 95% CI: 1.00–1.01, p < 0.0001), eosinophil count (OR: 11.10, 95% CI: 2.60–47.43, p = 0.0011), lymphocyte count (OR: 1.89, 95% CI: 1.15–3.12, p = 0.0118), and monocyte count (OR: 3.52, 95% CI: 1.14–10.83, p = 0.0283) were significantly associated with schistosomiasis, Table 4. This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and schistosomiasis.
