Interestingly, while the proportion of LC3b-associated bacteria did not exceed 15% in either microglia or MDM throughout the 24 h infection, intracellular bacteria were more frequently associated with LC3b in MDM, with the proportion increasing during the infection experiment (SI Appendix, Fig. S4, SI Appendix, Fig. S6, p value < 0.001).
